What Clartiv is
Clartiv is a marketplace that connects people who want to buy homemade food with independent cooks who make it. Cooks are independent, not employees of Clartiv. We verify them, we protect the payment, and we set the standards for taking part, and the food itself is prepared and sold by the cook.
Your account
You need to be of legal age in your province to hold an account, and the details you give us must be accurate. Keep your login to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to your account.
If you buy food
When you reserve, you agree to pay the total shown and to collect within the pickup window you chose. Read the listing, including the ingredients and what else is present in the kitchen, and ask the cook if you are unsure. If you have a food allergy, treat that conversation as essential.
If you cook and sell
You may only list food you have been cleared to sell, and you must keep any certificate or permit your region requires current. You are responsible for preparing food safely, describing it accurately, and honouring the pickup windows you open. You set your own prices and you keep the full food price you set.
Payments and fees
Buyers pay through the app when they reserve. Clartiv holds the payment and releases the cook’s earnings after pickup is confirmed, on the payout schedule shown to the cook. Clartiv does not take a commission from a cook’s food price. A service fee is charged to the buyer and disclosed before payment.
Cancellations
Cancellation windows are shown before you reserve. Early cancellations are refunded in full. Later cancellations reflect the fact that the cook has already bought ingredients and committed time. If a cook cancels, the buyer is refunded in full.
Conduct and removal
Treat the person on the other side of the order with respect. We may pause or remove an account that misrepresents food, ignores safety requirements, attempts to move payment off the platform, or behaves in a way that puts other people at risk.
Liability
Clartiv provides the marketplace and the protections described in these terms. Food is prepared by independent cooks, and to the extent permitted by law our liability is limited as set out in this section. Nothing here limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
Changes and law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the province where you use Clartiv and the applicable laws of Canada.
